R.A.D. Vocational Graded Class

R.A.D. Vocational Grade Class with the Royal Academy of Dance offers intensive ballet training for aspiring professional dancers, moving beyond general grades (Pre-Primary to Grade 8) into specialized levels like Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced Foundation, Advanced 1, and Advanced 2, focusing on advanced technique, performance, artistry, and career preparation through rigorous study and examinations.

What They Are

  • In-Depth Study: Vocational Graded Examinations provide a deeper dive into classical ballet technique, music, and performance skills, unlike the broader Graded exams.

  • Career Focused: Designed for students aiming for a professional career in dance, they develop the high-level technical ability, stamina, and artistry needed for the performing arts.

  • Progression: Students typically progress through Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced Foundation, Advanced 1, and Advanced 2.

Key Characteristics

  • Intensive Training: Requires significant commitment, often with classes multiple times a week, focusing on high-level technique, pointe work (for females), and musicality.

  • Advanced Skills: Focuses on executing complex movements, partnering, and professional-level expression and artistry.

  • Prerequisite: Students usually take these alongside Graded exams (like Grade 6, 7, 8) to build the necessary foundation.
