R.A.D. Graded Examinations Class

R.A.D. Graded Examinations Class with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) provides structured ballet training from Pre-Primary through Grade 8, focusing on progressive technique, musicality, and performance, with exams assessed by an RAD examiner for globally recognized certification, often requiring dedicated classes and building towards professional ballet careers.

What It Is

  • Structured Curriculum: A systematic approach to classical ballet from foundational steps to advanced skills.

  • International Recognition: RAD qualifications are respected worldwide, often used as benchmarks for vocational training.

  • Progressive Levels: From Pre-Primary (younger children) to Grade 8, with increasing technical demands.

Types of Assessments

  • Graded Exams: Students perform a set syllabus in a group (max 4) for an examiner, with the teacher usually absent, focusing on technique, musicality, and performance.

  • Class Awards: A teacher-led class where students perform for an examiner to demonstrate progress, for those not ready for full exams or attending less frequently.
