Born in Indonesia, Cheung Yui Man started her ballet training when she was very young. She graduated from the School of Dance of Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and received the Advanced Diploma with Distinction in 1990. She then joined the Hong Kong Ballet and won The Best Member of the Corps de Ballet in the Dancers' Awards held by the Friends of the Hong Kong Ballet in the following year. She was promoted to Assistant Ballet Mistress in 2001 and Ballet Mistress in 2006. Miss Cheung also passed the Royal Academy of Dance Teacher Certificate Examination with Distinction in 1997. She was invited as judge in the Solo Seal Examination of the RAD Vocational Graded Examination in 2009.
